| Question & Answer
Session |
| Q1) It is indicated that
the project commences from June of 2012, how long
is it scheduled to go on for? |
A1)
At the beginning it was to be carried out for two years. It all depends on what the Afghanistan Government have on their mind, however, it may be endless. |
|
|
| Q2) Under the project members, there are names of celebrities such as Frank
Gehry, what kind of role do they play in the project? Are they going to be
taking any part in the PR for the project?
|
| A2) They are Hiro's close friends. In the future, in LA, they will actively play
part in promoting this project. Moreover, in different occasions, we are
scheduled to promote about this project in great detail and will actively
take actions to gain support from many organisations. |

| Q3) It seems as the security
in Afghanistan is still bad, wouldn't it be quiet
dangerous for the foreign tourists to visit? |
A3) Answer by Yamagata:
Through my own experience,
information reported through the news to the world is
about the southern part of Afghanistan, near the border
of Pakistan. I have already been to Bamiyan twice. I
went through Kabul and it seemed that the residents there
were very peaceful. It didn't seem as there were under
any critical situations. It is very unfortunate that
the news mainly discusses about the war that took place
in Afghanistan and there are not much report done on
the essential things such as condition of the Afghanistan
itself or about the people living there. The residents
seemed eased and can feel that the town is vigorous,
filled with strong energy.
A3) Answer by Deputy Governor of Bamiyan
It can be said that there is
almost no danger in Bamiyan. As of now, we have not heard any reports
concerning this matter. We are aware that there are no problem concerning
the safety there and as matter of fact, the number of tourists is
increasing. However, the area near Pakistan is not safe, therefore,
the best route to enter Afghanistan is to take a plane to Dubai or
India, and then, to Kabul to Bamiyan. It only takes about 20 minutes
from Kabul to Bamiyan, it is a very short trip. The Bamiyan sky at
night is very mystical and it almost seems as you can reach up to
the sky to touch the stars. Even at the time like this, it is safe
to say that one can take a walk by themselves. |

|
| Q4) It has been stated
that for one day there are supply of 100W of electric
power, what kind of role would that play to the ordinary
households and also, when do you plan to provide
these supplies? |
A4)
This isn't the definite
number yet. However, currently it is considered to provide
about 6 hours per day but we are hoping that it can supply
more. |
|
|
| Q5) In relation to the
issue of budget, the number seems to be quiet high,
specifically, how are you thinking about collecting
them?
|
A5)
As LA being the central location,
I will gain cooperation from various area such as American
organisations, people in Hollywood, California state
as whole, politicians and will be campaigning in each
city. In addition, the significance of this project will
be appealed to all the countries in the world and to
raise funds for it. Also, I am planning to exhibit my
drawings from Bamiyan at the museums around the world
and the admission fees and donations raised from this
would all go into the project budget. In addition, we
are currently considering many other options. |
|
|
Q6) When this project
commences and there will be job opportunities, how
many people will be employed?
|
A6)
We believe that there will
be approximately 400 people employed not only from Bamiyan
but also from Kabul. It is necessary to gain as much
hands from people in different fields, uitlisation of
heavy industrial machines, conveyance and construction.
A6) Answer by Afghan Ambassador to Tokyo:
I hope this project will
become a tourist attraction, and want many people to visit this magnificent
place. In order for this to happen, by the year 2007, there is a
plan to improve the roads. Also, there is possibility that with all
the tourists visiting, there will be construction of hotels. Once
the tourism is well-regulated, it will become one factor of the economic
development. First, Buddhism came to this land and then, came the
teaching of the Islam. This implies that this region is the centre
of culture. From the bottom of our hearts, we are hoping to gain
back the ancient vigorous Bamiyan region that we had 2000 years ago. |
